| SRI has introduced a new
Purge and Trap which meets the recently improved
EPA method for purge and trap analysis of soils.
The sparging head on the SRI Method 5035 Purge
and Trap is equipped with an adjustable
temperature thermostatted sleeve into which a
standard 40ml VOA vial containing a water or soil
sample is inserted. Two needles puncture the
septum, one allowing the sparge gas to enter the
vial, the other exhausts the sample into the
adsorbent traps. The entire sleeve is
mechanically agitated during sparging to comply
with EPA Method 5035. The SRI
Method 5035 Purge and Trap comes with two
adsorbent traps, a carbon molecular sieve trap
and a Tenax-GR trap. Each trap can be
independently heated for desorption (typically
200(C), bake out (typically 250(C), and
adsorption (typically 35-70(C).
The
SRI Method 5035 Purge and Trap also contains a
second vial slot in order to pre-heat your next
sample.
The
operation of the Purge and Trap is completely
automated via the Peaksimple Data System.
Parameters such as purge time, desorbtion
preheat, bake out, vial temperature and
mechanical agitation are fully adjustable by the
software.
